Malhar - The Movie

Went 2 the St. Xaviers' College fest, "Malhar - The Movie". Spent two hours gettin drenched by the rain dat couldnt make it mind whether to rain or not and being pushed around by all the victims of d Malhar-mania who try, desperatly to get in d never-endin queue... The rain and our frustation even conspired to ruin our oh-so-precious purple Malhar Passes. Am given the Raga (link of the online one: http://www.theonlineraga.co.cc/ ). The paper n events mentioned are so good I'm left jumpin with excitement.

When finally we (d 9 gals n 2 guys) were allowed inside (not before being checked thoroughly for deodrants, sharp objects n even pencil sharpners!!!), we get lost and there're no people in sight to help us out, of course, the foyer was over-over-crowded with enthusiasts cheerin on for d folk dances, but no volunteers. Where they were, come back to it later. The last performance, I think it was Maharashtra, was especially good with a Ganpati and fast leziem beats. It got all of us, even me with ma sore throat, yellin "Ganpati Bappa Morya!" The judges were takin a lot of time to announce the winner so we moved on to one of the many food stalls. Actually, most of the stalls were for foodies. After munchin on Hippo Chips we search for the much-talked-about workshops and what do we see? Tada! *Drum beats* A large group, no, herd of Xavierite volunteers dancin to the tunes of...u'll never guess it, The Birdie Song!!!

I mean like, we tortured our mind, body n teachers (we bunked col 2 attend d fest) just so we can see adult-lookin ppl dancin like kids!!! Yea, right, v are FOOLS!!!

Couldnt find ne workshop (I sincerely wanted 2 attend d one on bloggin n foot-paintn) n no signs were put up to guide us, either. No, wait, there were sings all over the grounds that read "EXIT". So much for eagerness (whos or wat, dont ask). Finally, we leave the place only to be further delayed as the volunteers cant seem to match the tags to the thngs (remember, they took our does and all away?).

The scene on the road goes like this : am left alone with Amay n Vistasp. All three dog-tired n entirely pissed-off. The delay sets the temper flyin and all dams break. Words like mother-****ers, ******ds, losers n, ahem, many more are thrown everywhere, mainly aimed at d Xavier ppl. Ma frnds cum, even they join (words more aptly censored). We all agree to burn 2mrw's passes n swear to God, our "Kiran" fest will be trillion times better.

I come back home only to be told dat Malhar is THE best college fest. Given ma opinion n beliefs, I conclude college fests must be really terrible (so much for being a fresher). I argue (aah, the great art of debatin over trivial issues) and re-think. Visit the website (link:http://www.malharfest.org/) and wonder if it could have been the other way. If I could have left feelin happy n eager to come back again. If I would be writin all this singin praises in glory of Malhar (terrible line, no?)... If only...

Huh... but , watever, am not goin back again till next year. Or the next thing I know they'll throw me out for obscenities, its a good thing to let the flame cool down for one year, u c?

Bottomline: Their organisation sucks! Literally! If the OC (suppose its organizin committee is so interested in Birdie Dances, y dont they do it b4 Malhar? Hope 2mrw they take their responsibilites more seriously or all the attitude n ego (attached wid Malhar) is gonna go waste!!! M sure d next time I c a Xavierite showin off, I'l be secretly laughin ma head off!!
N yes, We, the K.C ppl will show u. We will rock u!!! n so will Kiran!

P.S: Sorry, no pics. It was rainin earlier n inside v were'nt allowed 2 cam-whore...

Post Independence Post

Happy Independece Day, all Indians! Really happy to be an Indian. So happy cant explain. Watch this video, mayb some of the happiness will transfer...

Great song, no? Rahman's music's enough to make an Indian feel proud n patriotic... And Mumbai's got a spirit of its won! Inspite of the swine flu scare, people turned up to celebrate Janamastami... But yet, am here sittin @ home... *sighs*

Its just been a week at K.C College, and I'm already in love. With college life. Though school life was great, it never gave us tthe freedom I wanted. Now that am granted it, I dont know what to do with it... how typical of me, hehe.

The dreaded "first day" was quite cool. And my new-found friends have already put my doubts, of finding good friends, to rest. And the best part, one of ma close friends, Gotti's in the same class as me. Yippee! Things couldn't have been more perfect, no? NO! they're not perfect. Wat with the Govenment announcing a leave till 20th for all. So scared the people are, ma folks wont even allow me to go for a movie! Not dat I wanna die or something, its just dat I HATE being @ home. As if four long borin months werent enough, got another useless n unnecessary leave...

Plannin 4 some girly-time... Can hardly wait!

P.S: Readin "The Bridges of Mason County". preety good book, I want to become a potographer (learn it professionaly) n "make" photos.

Love always,
Foram
